Background of the Study
Climate change has emerged as a critical driver of transformation in urban livelihood strategies in Ugep, where fluctuating weather patterns and environmental instability are increasingly common (Oliveira, 2023). Changes in rainfall, temperature, and extreme weather events have disrupted traditional economic activities, forcing residents to adapt their livelihood strategies. The urban population has responded by diversifying income sources and adopting innovative practices to mitigate climate-related risks (Diaz, 2024). However, these adaptive measures are often constrained by limited resources and inadequate policy support. The ongoing environmental changes have also led to heightened competition for natural resources and increased socio-economic vulnerability (Singh, 2025). This study explores how climate change influences urban livelihood strategies, examining both adaptive successes and the limitations faced by local communities. By integrating climate data with socio-economic analysis, the research aims to propose sustainable adaptation frameworks that can enhance community resilience in the face of climate uncertainties (Oliveira, 2023).
Statement of the Problem
Urban residents in Ugep are increasingly vulnerable to the adverse impacts of climate change, which disrupt traditional livelihood strategies and exacerbate socio-economic inequalities (Oliveira, 2023). The changing climate has led to reduced agricultural yields, increased health risks, and economic instability (Diaz, 2024). Limited access to financial resources and inadequate government support further hinder effective adaptation measures. Consequently, there is a critical need to assess how climate change affects urban livelihoods and to develop strategies that bolster community resilience in an era of environmental uncertainty (Singh, 2025).

Significance of the Study
This study illuminates the nexus between climate change and urban livelihoods, providing actionable insights for policymakers and community leaders. It aims to inform sustainable adaptation strategies that secure economic stability and enhance resilience in vulnerable urban areas (Oliveira, 2023; Diaz, 2024; Singh, 2025).
Scope and Limitations of the Study:
The study is limited to investigating the impact of climate change on urban livelihood strategies in Ugep.
